"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen"
2 Peter 3:18
Here at Saint Mark's, confirmation is more than a class, it is a ministry through which God is active in your life. It is a time to confirm or affirm the promises made to our young people by God in their Baptism.
Confirmation is a place where we learn about the promises God has made, why God has made them and how this impacts our lives today.
In order to understand this, we need to look deeply into the Bible to see how God has worked throughout history and how God still continues to work today. We will also learn about Martin Luther, his understanding of the Bible, and how Luther saw faith, active, in our daily lives.

Confirmation Students & Parents
Saint Mark’s Lutheran is excited to have our kids come back to Confirmation in person. We are always evaluating the safety of our students and teachers, please follow us on Facebook or look in your email for the latest news and updates. Thank you for your patience.
Wednesdays 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
7th Grade - Old Testament
8th Grade - New Testament
9th Grade - Lutheran Confessions
Only 2 excused absences allowed for the year. If a student misses more than 2 Wednesday confirmation classes, they need to write a paper on the subject they missed, as determined by their teacher.
Missing more than 6 total absences per church school year will result in re-taking the confirmation class.
ex: 2 excused + 4 unexcused = 6 absences
This does not bar students from being confirmed, however, students will not be able to be confirmed with their original class.
Attend church on Sundays and write sermon notes
Required Sermon Notes for 2021/2022 Church School Year
7th Grade: 4 sermon notes + lent
8th Grade: 4 sermon notes + lent
9th Grade: 8 sermon notes + lent
If you are unable to meet the minimum sermon notes, make-ups can be made by going to our website and/or Facebook page and listen to the sermon(s). There will be a link to the Sermon Summary form for you to fill out on our Church website. This is true during Lent as well.
For those who completed the required sermon notes from last school year, you will receive credit for this school year.
